Performance Work

2011: Numerous performances all over cities in Java, with underground bands “Azrael’s Armour”, “Dyspareunia” and “Perjamuan Terakhir”. Founding of new band “Ned Branchi and The Pandavas” for recording and performance in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Debut performance with this band at Liquid Club, Jogjakarta. Release of compilation CD “Garbage Collection” and founding of new record label “Garbage Collection Records” for independent distribution of Cds in Indonesia and Australia. Pre-recording of tracks for new albums with “Ned Branchi and The Pandavas” at Elssy Studios in Yogjakarta, Indonesia.

2010: Production of audio Cd Album “Hati Ke Hati” in collaboration with traditional gamelan musicians, recorded at Blass Studios, Yogjakarta, Indonesia. Responsible for management of project, production of lyrics & music composition, vocals, guitars & performance. Numerous performances in Yogjakarta, including: Taman Budaya, Papillon, Kridosono, Djendelo Café, Teater Garasi. Performance at Exhibition opening of Muhammad Lugas Syllabus, “Welcome To The Family” at Art Seasons, Jakarta. Performance at exhibition Opening of Samy Renae Vermuelen, “Chairs And Bones” at Bentara Budaya, Jakarta. Numerous performances with Samy Vermuelen and Heodinni kandhihawa at Rumah Seni Eloprogo, Borobodur.

2009: Composition and solo recording of “Garbage Man” at Elssy Studios, Jogjakarta, for Exhibition, “Museum of The Unworthy” at Cemeti Art House, Yogjakarta. Numerous performances in Indonesia andAustralia.

2006-08: Solo recording of guide tracks for next 3 albums, including “Hati Ke Hati” and future project “Zen Butterflies” with engineer and producer, Tim Millikan at “The Loft Studio” . Numerous solo performances and guest appearances in Australia.

2004-06: Guide tracking, pre-recording, recording and mastering of “StKilda Sun” and "StKilda Moon" with James “Oysters” Kilpatrick. Numerous performances & guest appearances in Australia.

2003-04: Teacher (ESL, Music) at Nanshan Foreign Language School, Shenzhen, China. Teaching English as a Second Language to Grade 2 elementary students and directing performances of Western music in combination with traditional Chinese instruments. Numerous performances & guest appearances in Guanzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

2001-02: Teacher (ESL, Music) at Payap University and Lampang College of Commerce and Technology,Thailand. Teaching English as a Second Language and directing Performances of Western music in combination with traditional Thai instruments. Numerous performances & guest appearances in Bangkok, Chaing Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, and Lampung.

1999: Training in Ethnomusicology at Monash University, specializing in Asian music of East Asia (China, Korea and Japan, with a focus on Buddhist music). Training in Indonesian Gamelan with Mr. Kartomi and Koswara Sumamidjadja, mainly on the instrument ‘Saron’. Playing saron in performance of “The Sankuriang” at Blackwood Hall, Monash University, 1999.

1994-2001: Composer/ Writer/ Vocalist and Performer for Newcastle based band, “Spoon” and manager of Spoon Productions, Newcastle & Melbourne. Recording of self titled Cd “Spoon”. Recorded at Charing Cross Studios, Sydney, Australia. Engineered and produced by Wayne Connolly, Aria Award Winner Engineer for 1997. Released in Newcastle, 1997, followed by extensive touring and performances in Australia. Managed by Eastern Acoustic Organisation, Newcastle, Australia.

1989-91: Composer/ Writer/ Vocalist/ Guitarist and Performer for Melbourne based band “Bigger than Jesus”. Recording at Platinum Studios, Melbourne. Songs released on 3 Cds “Killervision”, “Rough Justice” and "Soulfeast". Extensive touring in Australia.

1987-2001: Vocalist and Performer for numerous cover bands in Melbourne, and Sydney, including, “Whore”, “Thump”, “Pump”, “Jesus Chryslers” and Schnedley’s Revenge”. Extensive touring in Australia.

1984-87: Composer/ Writer/ Vocalist/ Guitarist and Performer for Melbourne based band “The Horla”. Recording of first album "White Stains" with Robin Casinader and Hugo Race (Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds). Extensive touring in Australia.
